Purpose of Village Courts

Village Court:

The court formed in the Union Parishad for the settlement of certain disputes or disputes (criminal and civil) locally in the area under the jurisdiction of the Union is called Village Court.

Purpose:

Make the dispute resolution system more transparent and acceptable locally.
To ensure the right of rural people, especially women and the poor and marginalized to access justice.
Reduce the backlog of cases in the High Court.
